The growing Roza family: Uncle Jacob's July visit

My brother Jacob drove out to California to visit all of us in late July through early August. He arrived in time for Carson's birthday/baptism celebration. We had not seen him since January, so we were excited to see him again. Even though Lilah hadn't seen him for 6 months, she knew exactly who he was! Between our occasional skyping and the photos of my brother in our home, she knew who "Uncle J" was (as she calls him). Lilah took to him immediately and had a great time playing with him.

Jacob stayed with us off and on for about 1-2 weeks. He was a big help when it came to entertaining Lilah. He read to her a lot and kept her busy with all of the toys we have downstairs. That freed me up to wash dishes, cook, organize, etc. while she was occupied. He also took her for walks a couple of times which allowed me to stay home and nap, shower, and fit in other important quick chores. We had a great time taking Uncle Jacob to the pool and park with us. I even got to kick the soccer ball around with him while Lilah ran around in the grass. Obviously I didn't run and move too much while kicking the ball around, considering I was 6 months pregnant at the time.

Jacob even got me to escape the house one evening and go to my first movie since before Lilah was born. Yes, that's right, I had not been to the movie theaters in over 19 months! We saw the movie "What To Expect When You're Expecting" at the $4 theater. That felt like an appropriate movie considering I have a toddler and another little babe on the way. I'm hoping my brother will come back into town for the holidays so he can meet his newest niece/nephew and be here to celebrate Christmas with all of us. We were very sad to see him go when he left in mid August. For several days after, Lilah would wake up in the morning and the first words out of her mouth were "Uncle J". Lilah and I just skyped with Jacob for the first time today since his return to Minnesota and she was very happy to see him again!
