The growing Roza family: Month 13

It seems like my sweet little baby, who is now a toddler, has been learning something new everyday! In month 13, Lilah started blowing kisses. I love my kisses from her! Her 4th tooth, one on the top left, cut through the week after Christmas. In the first week of January, Lilah learned how to stand up from pushing off of the floor, instead of having to crawl over to a nearby object and pull up on it.
Lilah learned to knock on doors extremely quickly! It took us about 20 seconds to teach her one night when Uncle Jacob was in town and he had the guest room door shut. Lilah thinks it's really fun to knock on doors, and she loves doing it. As of the first week of January, Lilah can point to her nose when I ask her where her nose is. She also impressed us by learning to put the correct shapes in her shape sorting toy with only some assistance. In the first week of January she also started wearing shoes and walking around outside in those shoes. By this month, Lilah loves dancing so much that she starts dancing every time she hears music. Even if it's a TV commercial! In the second week of January, Lilah starting waving good-bye and could say "ba bye". That appears to have been her first official spoken word. She also started saying "mama" occasionally, and attempting to say words like "ball" and "baby". Lilah also started to say "dada" if she was repeating it back to us.
Lilah transitioned to one nap a day in month 13. She'll typically only squeeze in a second nap if we are driving in the car, since being on the road lulls her to sleep. At the end of month 13, Lilah learned to point to her mouth and toes on command. During bath time, Lilah will help me put away her bath toys when I ask her to assist. By month 13, Lilah has become much more confident in her walking abilities. She's moving quite quickly now, practically running! One funny but sometimes irritating new thing Lilah does is that she loves to run over to the camera or camcorder to look at the footage. But often she runs over before I'm able to snap the shot, or record her cute moment, and we lose that opportunity. But that's okay...we're getting sneakier about catching those precious moments! And she is so precious! We love our sweet Lilah so much!
