The growing Roza family: October craziness

October always comes and goes in a whirlwind of crazy, busy weeks! For years, Edward has worked on the weekends in October at Smith Family Farm in Brentwood. The farm is right down the street from where his parents live, so the commute is very short! I worked with him several years as well. Last year I didn't work because I was 7 months pregnant with Lilah. And this year I didn't work because I was busy watching after Lilah all weekend so Edward could earn the extra money. It does get tiresome being away from our home the entire weekend, every weekend, in October. Sleeping in a smaller and less comfortable bed. Having Lilah share a room with us. And she doesn't sleep as well in the pack and play compared to her own crib in our home. But it is nice to spend some extra time with the family when we stay with them on the weekends!
Edward's father has been suffering from Parkinson's for years, and he recently moved into an assisted-living facility in Pleasant Hill. He's a fall risk at this point, and he needs a lot of assistance with those daily tasks that the rest of us take for granted. So we made sure to visit him over in Pleasant Hill a couple of times during our busy October as well. Lilah loved seeing her Grandpa Tony, and his face always lit up when he saw Lilah and played with her!

In month 10, Lilah began pushing her musical table forward as she walked behind it. Lilah started waving on 10/3, and she started clapping on 10/7. Lilah started laughing independently on 10/10. And out of the blue, at Shea and Shaun's house on 10/12, Lilah started climbing the stairs by herself.
