30 weeks along with Snicker!

So we've finally reached the 30 week mark, yay!! It feels good to be in the final stretch of this pregnancy. Out of the 20's and into the 30's. Closer to the end. Not much time left until I get to hold my precious baby in my arms. And with God's blessings, this baby will be born ALIVE and HEALTHY!

I had my 30 week prenatal appt on Tuesday, 9/4. Edward came straight from work and met Lilah and I at my OB's office for the appt. Lilah was more hyper than normal so Edward took her out into the hallway of the office building so that the waiting room wasn't so chaotic. She ran off some of her energy out there! When it was time for my appt, the 3 of us joined Dr. Burman in the exam room. Lilah was still pretty squirmy at that point. But Edward did a good job keeping her under control so Dr. Burman wouldn't be distracted as he measured my fundus, listened to the baby's heartbeat, and then performed an ultrasound. The doctor checked my placenta and fluid levels again, which are all still great, thank goodness! He also looked closely at Snicker to make sure he/she is doing well and still growing at the proper rate. He measured the size of Snicker's stomach using the ultrasound and thankfully Snicker measured exactly at 30 weeks. Awesome news!! We agreed that my next appt will be in 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks, since we are getting closer to the end. Yay for more frequent appts and good medical care! My next OB appt is scheduled for 9/17. We also agreed that my NST's (non-stress tests) will begin during week 32, that way Snicker can be monitored twice each week (above and beyond my regular OB appts) to assure that this pregnancy continues to progress smoothly. We left that appt feeling really good and hopeful.

I got a call from the ATU dept at the hospital shortly after my OB appt last week. We scheduled my first NST for next Tuesday morning, 9/18. My NST's will be every Tuesday and Friday morning starting next week and will continue until I deliver Snicker. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the ATU nurses again. They were all so sweet when I was there 2 years ago receiving NST's during the last trimester of my pregnancy with Lilah.

Big sister Lilah, excited to see her baby brother/sister on the ultrasound!
